Applelicious Jacket

Applelicious is a children’s chunky sweater jacket with a garter stitch square yoke and stockinette stitch body. Worked from the top down, Applelicious requires no seaming. The jacket features a small front patch pocket and optional basic embroidery around the edge of the yoke and on the pocket. A straightforward, easy knit, Applelicious comes in 8 sizes from 3 months to 8 years. It’s the perfect jacket for outdoor wear in the Fall or Spring, as well as indoors on a cold Winter day.

Finished Measurements

• Chest: 20 (21.25, 22.5, 23.75, 25, 26.25, 28.75, 31.25) inches.
• Length (from shoulders): 11.75 (13, 13.75, 14.25, 15, 15.75, 17, 18.75) inches.

Gauge

14 sts/20 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm) in stockinette stitch.

Materials Needed

• Bulky weight yarn, approximately 180 (215, 240, 265, 295, 325, 385, 465) yards.
• Scrap yarn in desired colors, approximately 6 yards total.
• 1 US #10/6mm circular needle (29 inches or longer) or size needed to obtain gauge.
• 1 set of US #10/6mm double-point needles or same size as circular needle used.
• 8 stitch markers.
• 2 stitch holders or scrap yarn.
• 5 buttons (0.5 - 0.75 inches in diameter).
• Darning needle for finishing.

Malabrigo Chunky [100% merino wool; 104 yds/95m per 3.5oz (100g) skein]; color: Lettuce; 2 (3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5) skeins.

Pattern Notes
